Description
The Detention Monitor plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients. This position is responsible for supervising clients and being a source of support, modeling respectful behavior and contributing to client’s safety and dignity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support to all clients during intake, admission, and throughout their stay including discharge.
- Fill out intake information, including a log of any property being withheld, and incident reports completely and accurately.
- Perform check-ins on clients in 30-minute increments throughout the shift.
- De-escalates individuals during intake and throughout their stay while using understanding and compassionate language.
- Secures client property and ensures that items are returned to the client in full upon their release.
- Provides clients with resources and referrals as needed, including Firstep material, upon their release.
- Keeps the PIA facility clean at all times according to the cleaning checklist provided.
- Notifies Program Director of any supplies needed to continue protocol and care.
Requirements
- Experience in substance abuse recovery and/or High school diploma and/or GED. Preference is given to CNAs or CADC.
- Bilingual preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to assist clients in transferring from standing to lying and from lying down to sitting and standing positions.
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles overtime without fatigue.
- Employee is expected to sit, bend, and crouch.
