Description
Well-Being Specialist (Seasonal Summer Role)
Location: Prescott, Arizona
Schedule: Full-Time, May–August (Seasonal)
Spend Your Summer Making a Meaningful Impact
At CampWay, we create spaces where people unplug, connect, and grow. Across our three unique locations—Friendly Pines Camp, Prescott Pines & Frontier Village, and Yavapai College—we host thousands of guests each year, from elementary students to multi-generational families.
We’re looking for a Well-Being Specialist who is passionate about supporting youth, building strong community, and helping campers thrive emotionally and socially. If you’re someone who stays calm under pressure, connects easily with kids and staff, and values purpose-driven work, this could be a great fit for your summer.
What You’ll Do
As a Well-Being Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping a positive, supportive camp culture. You’ll work closely with counselors, leadership, and medical staff to ensure every camper feels safe, included, and empowered.
In this role, you will:
- Support campers experiencing homesickness, anxiety, or social challenges through one-on-one check-ins and encouragement
- Observe group dynamics and proactively identify campers who may need additional support
- Partner with staff to develop strategies around behavior, emotional regulation, and group cohesion
- Provide guidance to counselors navigating conflicts or behavioral concerns
- Collaborate with medical staff and leadership when situations require escalation
- Help train staff on camper wellbeing, inclusion, and behavior management
- Maintain clear, confidential documentation and communication around camper support needs
What to Expect
This is an active, hands-on role in a dynamic outdoor environment. You’ll be moving throughout camp, engaging with campers and staff, and helping create a safe and welcoming space for all.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Be on your feet for extended periods (walking, standing, bending, etc.)
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call support during camp sessions
Why CampWay?
Our mission is simple: create intentional spaces where relationships grow and moments matter.
We’re a team that:
- Takes ownership and follows through
- Solves problems proactively
- Supports one another across roles
- Cares deeply about safety, details, and the camper experience
If you’re looking for a summer role where your work truly matters—and where you’ll leave a lasting impact on young people—we’d love to hear from you.
