Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer to perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in abdominal, OB/GYN, breast, and vascular sonography while maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and image quality. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with radiologists and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdomen, small parts, OB/GYN, breast, and vascular studies according to departmental protocols and procedures.
- Produce high-quality sonographic images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide clear instructions during examinations.
- Assess patient needs and adapt communication techniques based on age and clinical condition.
- Collaborate with radiologists, supervisors, lead technologists, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and sonographic principles to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
- Maintain patient safety and comply with ultrasound safety standards and infection control protocols.
- Utilize sterile techniques when required during procedures.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Qualifications
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Minimum of two years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- RDMS in Abdomen (ABD), OB/GYN, and/or Breast (BR)
- RVT or RVS certification preferred/required
- Strong knowledge of sonographic imaging principles and anatomical structures.
- Experience performing abdominal, OB/GYN, breast, and vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Ability to recognize anatomical anomalies and optimize image quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients, radiologists, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and ultrasound safety protocols required.
Important Details:
- 14-week contract position (extensions available)
- Shift is an 8-hour day shift (8:15 AM - 5:15 PM), 40 hrs/week
- Location is Houston, TX 77087
- Pay Range for Locals: $50 - $54 per hour
