Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist for a travel assignment in New York. Key Responsibilities of the X-Ray Technologist
- Verifies patients' identity and reviews physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures
- Uses x-ray equipment to take radiographic images as per physicians' written orders
- Explains x-ray procedures to patients and answers their questions
- Positions patients accordingly, including lifting and moving those with limited mobility
- Handles all radiologic equipment safely, maintaining low patient dose
- Observes patient's status and interprets information to meet age-specific needs
- Produces diagnostic, high quality images for Radiologist interpretation
- Notifies management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment
- Utilizes electronic patient information systems for verification and dual patient identification
- Maintains accurate patient records and ensures correct PACS system image transmission
Requirements of the X-Ray Technologist
- Completion of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Possession of or eligibility for NYS license
- 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma center
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Patient and compassionate disposition
- Team player with a cohesive working environment maintenance
- Ability to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Experience using c-arm/o-arm in the past 8 months
- Recent OR experience at a trauma 1 center
