American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for an Imaging unit at a teaching hospital in Maine, requiring ARRT (R) certification and experience with OR/C-arm and fluoroscopy procedures.
Details- 89-bed acute care teaching hospital with an Imaging unit serving outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, MedSurg), and OR settings
- Patient population is primarily adult and geriatric with some pediatric patients
- Average of 25–30 scans per day
- Imaging rooms include 2 general X-ray rooms and 1 fluoroscopy/pain clinic room
- Procedures include fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, ortho and ortho trauma, ICU and MedSurg portables, and ER imaging (chest X-ray, abdominal scans, vascular)
- Equipment includes Siemens and T-Rad digital X-ray units, Canon Ultimax Hybrid C-arm, Philips C-arm (OR), Philips and Siemens portable C-arms, GE AMX 4 portable, and a mini C-arm for ortho
- EMR: Cerner; PACS: AGFA Enterprise Imaging
- Variable shift schedule — days or evenings depending on department needs, 40 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required; no on-call required
- Holidays covered on a rotating basis with other techs
- Required to cover OR, fluoroscopy, and float for inpatient portable scans
- Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
- ME state license required; compact or ME license required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in radiology (more experience preferred)
- OR/C-arm experience required
- Fluoroscopy experience required; candidates with strong overall skills but limited fluoro experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Experience with outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, MedSurg), and OR patient populations required
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start; medical exemptions only, subject to facility approval
- Two professional references within the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge (peer references not accepted)
- Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration
- License required if applicable
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME to be eligible; travelers living 100+ miles north may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity are not eligible
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application and require manager approval
- Orientation is approximately 1–1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level
- Department is supported by a lead tech, internal transport, and an on-site radiologist until approximately 4:30–5:00 PM, after which remote radiology service is used
- Scrubs may be any solid, professional color; facility scrubs available if needed
- Free parking on site
- 13-week assignment with a 7-week scheduling cycle
