This role requires expertise in operating CT equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining equipment sterility. Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist
- Obtain necessary supplies for procedures and maintain sterility
- Prepare and verify requisitions according to protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to alleviate anxiety
- Observe and report changes in patient condition
- Maintain records and ensure availability of patient history
- Coordinate workflow to ensure patient safety and procedure efficiency
- Clean and maintain CT equipment and work areas
- Screen patients for allergies and medication incompatibilities
- Adhere to venipuncture and power injector protocols
- Notify radiologists of unusual findings and ensure timely patient care
Requirements of the CT Technologist
- HS diploma/GED
- Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program
- ARRT RT (R)
- ARRT RT (CT)
- New Jersey State X-Ray License
- BLS Certification
