About the PositionJob Title: CT Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Imaging Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1-3 years License: Associate's Degree Certifications: ARRT - CT; BLS Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited radiography program. CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT required upon hire. CRT-Computerized Tomography (CT) - ARDMS required; 1 year experience. CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC required upon hire. Description: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection. Follows the philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times. Verifies patient identification and physician orders. Provides procedural information and education to the patient and family prior to each exam. Acquires an accurate patient history and documents it in the medical record. Performs CT and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical ability and/or limitations. Places IVs as required for the injection of contrast media. Proficiently operates CT imaging equipment and performs necessary quality control and quality assurance testing. Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety. Ensures STAT requests are relayed to the radiologist in a timely manner. Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and the exam room is clean and properly stocked with linens and supplies. Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS. Uses effective inter-departmental communication and participates with medical staff, management, technical, and support staff.
