Key Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by a supervising Occupational Therapist
- Provide direct patient care to support the development, recovery, and improvement of daily living and work skills
- Document patient progress accurately and in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated and effective patient outcomes
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs
Required Qualifications
- Current COTA certification through NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
- Active and valid state licensure or eligibility to practice as a COTA in Illinois
- Experience providing occupational therapy assistance in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care rehabilitation environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
