American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Burn Med/Surg position at a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, with a specialized adult burn, plastics, and pediatric trauma patient population.
Details- 13-week contract with day shifts (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30)
- 15-room, 26-bed Burn Med/Surg unit with an average daily census of 22 patients
- Patient population includes adult burn, plastics, and pediatric trauma and burn
- Patient ratios are 3–4:1 on days and 4–5:1 on nights
- Special procedures include anesthesia-assisted wound care (Nitrous available), EtCO₂ monitoring, and wound care in two tank rooms and a bath room; a wound care RN assists the primary RN in tank rooms during 8-hour day shifts (0700–1530)
- Every other weekend is required
- Travelers are first to float within scope to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting is done via Epic (experience preferred but not required)
- Facility is Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, and an academic teaching hospital
- Scrubs are blue and provided by the facility
- On-site parking is available at a daily cost; off-site parking with a 10-minute shuttle (operational Monday–Friday, 5am–10pm) is also available approximately 1 mile from the facility
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum of 1–2 years of RN experience required, with at least 2 travel assignments beyond the initial hospital
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Must be fully vaccinated prior to starting the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius requirement
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum
- Prior permanent staff of the UW health system must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
