Job Title: Anesthesia Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Anesthesia Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years of recent experience required License: Must have appropriate license in hand or pending application Certifications: BLS, Cer.A.T. preferred Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Previous travel assignment experience required Description: The Anesthesia Tech will work in a surgical services setting. No direct patient care is required. The tech will be responsible for bringing supplies into the room. Knowledge of procedures and equipment is essential. Skills required include familiarity with endotracheal tubes, emergency intubations, and intubation techniques. The tech should also be proficient with IV insertion, patient positioning, and patient transport. Experience with anesthesia machines and their troubleshooting is necessary. Candidates should be knowledgeable about various breathing circuits and standard monitors. The ability to assist anesthesia providers in critical situations is crucial. Safety protocols, including electrical, fire, and infection control, must be understood. The tech will participate in room setup for cases and turnover processes. A thorough understanding of the time-out process for procedures is required. Experience with arterial, central venous access, and vascular access is expected. Familiarity with general, MAC, and regional modes of anesthesia is important. Work settings include ambulatory OR and operating room environments. Candidates will be expected to maintain high standards of operating room safety.
