Tax AnalystOverview
We are seeking a motivated Tax Analyst with a foundation in public accounting to join a growing tax team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career looking to transition into industry while building on their technical tax knowledge. You'll gain exposure to corporate tax compliance, provision work, and planning initiatives, while partnering closely with internal finance teams and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and support federal, state, and local tax compliance, including corporate income and franchise tax returns
- Assist with the quarterly and annual income tax provision (ASC 740), including preparation of supporting schedules
- Compile and analyze financial data for tax filings, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Support tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to requests from external auditors and taxing authorities
- Track and maintain tax calendars, ensuring all filings and payments are completed on time
- Research tax issues and analyze the impact of new legislation or regulatory changes
- Assist with apportionment calculations, state registrations, and nexus analysis
- Partner with accounting and finance teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions
- Support special projects, including process improvements and system enhancements within the tax function
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required (Master's in Taxation is a plus)
- 1-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in public accounting (tax-focused)
- Progress toward CPA or CPA license preferred
- Exposure to corporate tax, partnership, or multi-state tax compliance
- Familiarity with tax provision concepts (ASC 740)
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data organization, basic formulas, analysis)
- Experience with tax software (e.g., OneSource, CCH, or similar) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret tax regulations and financial data
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a corporate tax environment
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize in a compliance-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
