Description
Position OverviewThe University of Kansas Center for Community Health and Development supports community health and development through collaborative research and evaluation, teaching and training, and technical support and capacity building.
The Center for Community Health and Development seeks a full-time Research Informatics Analyst to support technology applications used by our community-based partners and colleagues, including the Community Check Box Evaluation System, the Community Tool Box website, our Center website, and customized action toolkits.
Job Description
35% - Builds, modifies, and maintains data collection forms and workflows for the CCHD's Community Check Box (CCB) application and related platforms. Works with staff and community partners to understand data collection needs. Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure timely follow-through on deliverables. Manages data import and export processes and supports data quality and integrity.
20% - Provides support for developing and maintaining technology applications for faculty, staff, and community partners (clients) of the Center for Community Health and Development. Implements application updates and changes in coordination with colleagues and technology vendors. Supports requirements gathering, data management, user experience design, quality assurance testing, and deployment of applications. Elicits user requirements and translates into actionable proposals to obtain bids from technology vendors. Participates in the design and implementation of customized online applications and websites with a community health and development focus.
20% - Provides user support and training to internal staff and external community partners using Center technology platforms. Responds to support requests and troubleshoots user issues. Develops and maintains user help materials and guides. Supports partner communications. May supervise student interns or employees.
15% - Works with KU IT to ensure needed support for servers and related applications. Performs basic front-end updates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as needed. Identifies, documents, and clearly describes bugs for vendor resolution.
10% - Documents technology support provided. Assists with website updates, provides graphic design support, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school/GED and 3 years related experience OR Associate's degree and 2 years related experience OR Bachelor's degree in field related to discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a welcoming environment as evidenced by application materials.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills, as evidenced in application materials.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely follow-through on projects as evidenced by application materials.
- Creative thinking/planning skills that exhibit initiative while working in a team environment as evidenced by application materials.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, or experience with, web technologies including HTML and CSS and demonstrated flexibility exploring and investigating web pages using browser tools such as web inspector as evidenced by application materials.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications as evidenced by application materials.
- Demonstrated ability to use Excel formulas to organize and analyze data as evidenced by application materials.
- Demonstrated strong technical aptitude with ability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve using available resources as evidenced by application materials.
