- Program Lead and Professional Development Specialist

Position Summary:
The Program Lead & Professional Development Specialist supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of workforce and professional development, including restorative justice practices programs that advance the organization’s strategic direction. This role works closely with senior leadership to coordinate and deliver high-impact training and career development opportunities for participants, staff, and community stakeholders.
The Specialist ensures that program goals and milestones are achieved in alignment with funding requirements and approved budgets. This position also supervises assigned staff, supports daily program operations, and represents the organization at community and partner events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development & Implementation
- Assist in developing and implementing new or revised program goals, objectives, and strategies aligned with organizational priorities and funding requirements
- Support the development of program curricula, training materials, and participant resources
- Conduct needs assessments to inform program design and professional development offerings
- Assist in creating and maintaining program work plans aligned with funding requirements, timelines, and organizational goals
Program Coordination & Operations
- Oversee and support daily program operations, ensuring activities are executed effectively and efficiently
- Review applications or other documents to make decisions about program acceptance.
- Coordinate program activities with staff, consultants, and partners; assist in prioritizing and delegating tasks as needed
- Serve as a point of contact for participants, partners, and stakeholders, providing guidance, technical assistance, and program information
- Maintain ongoing communication and relationships with community agencies, consultants, and partner organizations
Training & Professional Development
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating restorative justice training, workforce and professional development trainings, workshops, and learning sessions
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance participant engagement and outcomes
- Support the development of tools and resources that strengthen participant skills, career readiness, and capacity
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Develop and implement evaluation methods to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact for leadership and external stakeholders
- Maintain comprehensive program records, data, and documentation to ensure compliance and accountability
Outreach & Recruitment
- Support recruitment of program participants, members, and volunteers through outreach, presentations, and marketing efforts
- Assist in developing and distributing promotional materials, including brochures, emails, and presentations
- Maintain partnerships with community partners and stakeholders to strengthen program visibility, engagement, and professional development objectives
Administrative & Program Support
- Assist in reviewing applications and program documentation to support participant selection and program decision-making
- Provide administrative and logistical support to ensure effective program delivery
Requirements
Preferred Skills:
Experience conducting needs assessments and program evaluations
Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Knowledge of community engagement and workforce capacity-building practices
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nonprofit management, education, public administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–4 years of experience in program coordination, facilitation, or training, including restorative justice training
- Certification in Restorative Justice practices
- Experience in developing and facilitating workforce and professional development initiatives
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of required background clearances
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Reliable transportation (personal vehicle required)
