Position Overview:
The Marketing Manager will coordinate and develop marketing policies, programs, and campaigns for
the firm. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a variety of marketing and business
development initiatives in a collaborative environment with direct interaction with partners and
key stakeholders. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, detail-oriented, and capable
of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Marketing & Content Management:
o Maintain the firm’s digital presence, including website updates, search engine optimization
(SEO), and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
o Develop and manage social media campaigns, monitor analytics, and generate reports on engagement
and performance.
o Coordinate and produce client communications, newsletters, blogs, and other digital content.
o Update and manage attorney bios and professional photos.
Business Development & Client Engagement:
o Identify business/client development opportunities, client educational programs, and speaking
engagements.
o Oversee business development, external, and client-facing event logistics, including invitations,
RSVPs, nametags, materials, and on-site event coordination.
o Manage firm sponsorships, including approvals, ad creation, and event attendance.
o Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new engagement opportunities.
o Create marketing materials such as PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and event collateral.
o Manage client gifting process (holiday and on-going), including ordering, coordination, and
distribution of gifts.
Project Management & Administrative Duties:
o Collaborate with attorneys, firm owners, and various departments to execute projects and identify
process improvements.
o Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets for client events, leads, and budgets.
o Track marketing budgets, process expenses, and assign accounting codes.
o Maintain inventory of marketing materials and ensure timely updates.
o Coordinate with external marketing consultants and vendors on public relations, advertising, and
other outsourced initiatives.
Strategic Planning & Reporting:
o Draft and manage the firm’s annual marketing calendar and department budget.
o Prepare agendas, presentations, and reports for the Board of Directors and Chief Operating
Officer.
o Analyze and evaluate marketing campaign performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
o Conduct pricing research, market analysis, and strategic planning for service positioning.
Client Relationship Management (CRM):
o Manage and maintain the firm’s CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and leveraging the system for
targeted marketing campaigns and client outreach.
Proposal and Pitch Development:
o Lead the creation and submission of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), pitches, and capability
statements for new business opportunities.
o Collaborate with attorneys to tailor proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
Internal Communications and Branding:
o Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communications.
o Develop internal newsletters or updates to keep staff informed about marketing initiatives, firm
achievements, and upcoming events.
Reputation Management:
o Monitor online reviews and firm mentions to manage the firm’s online reputation.
o Develop strategies to enhance positive reviews and manage any negative feedback.
Thought Leadership and Content Strategy:
o Collaborate with attorneys to identify thought leadership opportunities, such as publishing
articles, blogs, white papers, or speaking engagements.
o Coordinate the development and distribution of legal insights and educational content to position
the firm as an industry leader.
Media Relations and Public Relations:
o Establish and maintain relationships with media contacts and legal publications.
o Draft and distribute press releases and coordinate media opportunities.
Training and Development:
o Provide marketing and business development training for attorneys and staff, focusing on
networking, personal branding, and client relationship management.
Technology Integration:
o Stay up-to-date with marketing technologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
o Integrate marketing efforts with legal technology platforms where applicable.
Crisis Communication:
o Develop and implement crisis communication strategies, ensuring the firm can respond promptly and
effectively to sensitive issues.
Firm and Attorney Awards
o Monitor and maintain a calendar of relevant awards, rankings and recognition opportunities (e.g.
Best Lawyers, Chambers, Super Lawyers, OBJ)
o Identify awards that align with the firm’s strategic goals, practice areas and attorney
specialties. Provide tailored recommendations to attorneys.
o Collaborate with attorneys and clients to prepare and submit for awards. Review and edit
submissions for accuracy, consistency and compliance and ensure they are submitted completely and
timely.
o Coordinate internal and external announcements of awards and rankings
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related
field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of marketing experience, preferably in a legal or professional services
environment.
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple
deadlines.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools, including website management, SEO, social media
platforms, and analytics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Graphic design skills and familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva,
etc)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external
vendors.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with legal marketing or in a professional services firm.
Knowledge of CRM systems and marketing automation tools.
Familiarity with law firm operations and attorney-client dynamics
