Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a hospitalist physician for a two-week locum assignment in Kingsport, TN. This role involves managing adult medical and cardiac patients at a 300+ bed hospital with ICU and multispecialty support.
Opportunity Details
- Location: 130 West Ravine Road, Kingsport, TN 37660
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital with partial ICU beds including cardiac ICU and support for multispecialty services
- Coverage Duration: Starting July 1, 2026, for two weeks
- Schedule: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. (10-hour shift) and 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. / 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. (12-hour shifts), 7-on / 7-off
Clinical Scope
- Manage adult medical and cardiac patients across ICU and general floors
- Document in Epic EMR
- Provide acute care and collaborate with multispecialty teams, including cardiology, nephrology, vascular surgery, and more
- Cover ICU and ward responsibilities with dedicated NP/PA admitters
Requirements
- Active Tennessee medical license and unrestricted DEA with Tennessee address
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Graduate from an accredited MD or DO school followed by a 3-year residency training
- Recent clinical experience; new graduates considered based on site needs
- Certifications in ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not emergency medicine certified)
- Immunization documentation: MMR/Varicella titers or vaccines, TB testing within past 12 months or recent QuantiFERON Gold
- Documentation of case logs for the past two years
- Ability to treat all adult ages
- Supervision of NP/PA providers
Nice-to-Have
- Previous hospitalist or ICU experience
- Familiarity with Epic EMR
Credentials & Constraints
- Must pass board specialty exam (ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or equivalent)
- Valid and current Tennessee medical license and DEA
- Active certifications in ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and NRP (if applicable)
Additional Details
Malpractice coverage: $1 million per loss, $3 million annual aggregate.
Must be able to work the specified schedule with no additional operational requirements.
