Position Overview
We seek a lateral attorney (10+ years of experience) with a solid foundation in transactional and contract law, preferably with experience in healthcare regulation and compliance.
This role offers the opportunity to build on your experience and grow your client base in a responsive boutique healthcare law firm. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and associates and clients on matters that blend regulatory insight with complex business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements (provider, vendor, service, joint venture, employment, licensing, etc.).
Oversee healthcare provider transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Assist in regulatory compliance, licensing, and governmental enrollment matters (Medicare, Medicaid, and state agencies).
Advise on fraud and abuse laws (Stark, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act) and related compliance policies.
Provide guidance on labor and employment issues, policies, and contracts.
Offer general corporate and governance advice to healthcare and business clients.
Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and assist in client counseling and due diligence.
Participate in business development, client outreach, and firm training initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Admission (or eligibility for admission) to the Louisiana Bar (preferred).
10+ years of legal experience in transactional, contract, employment, or regulatory work (health care preferred).
Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and client service abilities.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a collaborative, smaller-firm setting.
Preferred Attributes
Familiarity with healthcare regulation, reimbursement, and compliance.
Knowledge of Stark, Anti-Kickback, provider licensure and enrollment, etc.
Exposure to employment law or administrative/regulatory proceedings.
