About the Role
The Director, Partnerships is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships that drive growth, deepen impact, and advance Myriad USA’s mission. This role has a particular focus on launching business development for our new collaborative fund service, strengthening outreach efforts targeting corporate donors, and building longterm, highvalue sector relationships to raise Myriad USA visibility and grow new business.
Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Business Development
- In close coordination with the CPO, identify, source, and cultivate new opportunities that are aligned with the strategic growth of the organization and its core services.
- Shape and execute an action plan to lead new business development efforts for the collaborative fund service that is aligned with revenue objectives and metrics.
- Grow the corporate philanthropy portfolio by developing new partnerships with Fortune 1000 companies and corporate foundations with international interests.
- Build on existing partnerships with like-minded and complementary networks and intermediaries and further develop new relationships in the sector.
- Track sector trends and the competitive landscape to inform competitive positioning.
Market Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Secure and manage sponsorships for key industry events, and their related activities.
- Represent Myriad USA and speak on panels at conferences, convenings, and industry events. This will require domestic and potentially international travel.
- Contribute to thought leadership-focused marketing activities to create visibility for the organization in the global philanthropy and social impact space.
Relationship Management
- Maintain an active relationship with existing donors to ensure partner satisfaction and explore ways to further strengthen and grow their grantmaking portfolio.
- Steward high-touch, senior-level grant portfolios for corporations, foundations, and global funders with exceptional customer service.
- Supervise the Manager, Corporate Philanthropy to ensure a high level of excellence in all donor portfolio activities.
Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of relevant experience in business development and building partnerships in the philanthropic sector.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Demonstrable experience developing partnerships and securing new business.
- Proven track record of managing complex, high value philanthropic partnerships.
- Strong networks in and excellent understanding of the philanthropic ecosystem, including donor advised funds, collaborative funds and other philanthropic services.
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate philanthropy an advantage.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency in a foreign language, deep international experience, or working in a multicultural setting essential.
- A self-starter mindset, organized, and tech-savvy, with the ability to track and prioritize multiple activities at the same time.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and contributions.
Pay range and compensation package
- Gross annual salary of $140,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
- 403(b) retirement plan with 150% company match after one year (up to 8% of total compensation).
