Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is to assist in all financial aspects of the ASU System Foundation. The CFO will provide leadership in setting the Foundation's financial direction while also being an active participant in the organization's overall strategy. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing the Foundation's investment and accounting policies, tax and regulatory requirements, endowment investments and annual operating budget, in close coordination with the ASU System Foundation President. The CFO is expected to adhere to high ethical as well as professional standards in serving the investment management and financial management needs of the Foundation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assume supporting responsibility to ensure that revenue collected and expenditures made conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, state and federal regulations, donor restrictions and Foundation policy.
- Prepare and present reports and analyses as necessary to the Foundation's governing bodies.
- Support annual Foundation operating budget process and monitor budget performance.
- Manage endowment, working capital, and cash assets under the policies, guidelines, and performance benchmarks established by the Foundation.
- Support to ensure that all required federal and state returns and filings are timely and accurate.
- Keep abreast of changes in GAAP, FASB and IRS rules and regulations as they apply to the Foundation, and implement changes as necessary.
- Serve as support contact with external auditor, coordinate preparation of all schedules and provide information requested by the auditor as it relates to endowments and investments.
- Work with the Investment Consultant to oversee implementation of the approved investment policies, asset allocation, and investment manager selection as determined by the Board of Directors and Investment Committee.
- Serve as supporting staff for the Foundation's Audit, Investment, and Governance Committees.
- Supervise up to two supporting members of Foundation staff.
- Report directly to the ASU System Foundation President.
- Prepare reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Assume additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of computer accounting technology and reporting software.
Experience with non-profit related investing or institutionally related Foundations and endowment management and reporting.

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

ORGANIZATION INFORMATION:
The Arkansas State University System Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation duly chartered by the state of Arkansas in 1977 to operate for the benefit and advancement of the Arkansas State University System and its related entities. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to receive, solicit, accept and hold, administer, invest and disburse any and every kind of property for such education, scientific, literary, research and service activities from individuals and organizations, including foundations, government agencies, and private businesses, to support the Corporation's activities, and it shall manage endowments given to the Corporation for the benefit of all the Arkansas State University System campuses operations, sites and facilities. The Foundation is the primary entity for receipting, acknowledging, accounting for, managing and investing endowment funds. The ASU System Foundation office is located on the Arkansas State University campus in Jonesboro.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance.
Advanced knowledge and relatable experience in computer accounting technology and reporting software.
Knowledge and relatable experience in Endowment and investment management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in business, accounting or finance.
Certified Public Accountant OR Chartered Financial Analyst.
Experience with nonprofit accounting and related investing approaches.
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge accounting software and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge Donor.
Management and gift processing software.
