Hunt Law Firm, PLLC, an established and growing family law firm, is seeking a full-time associate attorney to join our team serving clients throughout the Greater Houston area. We have offices in Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land, and League City, with an initial in-person training period in our Katy office.
This role offers substantial client contact and courtroom experience. You will manage your own docket with the support of an experienced team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff, and you will be expected to handle cases from initial consultation through final resolution. The ideal candidate is an organized, responsive, and compassionate advocate who can balance zealous representation with the sensitivity required in family law matters.
About the role
- Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, enforcement, and modifications.
- Conduct client consultations, develop case strategy, and maintain regular communication with clients.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and orders with strong attention to detail.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials in courts throughout the Greater Houston area.
- Work with other attorneys and staff in a team-based, highly professional environment focused exclusively on family law and estate planning.
- Use modern legal technology and practice management tools to efficiently manage your docket and time.

Requirements
What you'll bring to the team
- J.D. and active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing.
- At least 1–3 years of Texas family law experience (clerkships, internships, and prior litigation experience will be considered); compensation is commensurate with experience.
- Proven ability to independently manage a docket while meeting deadlines and billable expectations.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including comfort speaking in court and mediation.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and responsiveness to clients and colleagues.
- Comfort with technology, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Apple/macOS, and modern law practice software.
- A positive, professional demeanor and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and help wherever needed.
- Genuine interest in building a long-term career in Texas family law.
