Description
ARDMS Certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer specializing in Echo, Vascular, and General Sonography. This role involves independently operating sonographic equipment to perform diagnostic examinations and communicating results effectively. You will oversee daily sonography department operations, including patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance. Key Responsibilities Coordinate program activities to ensure consistent, patient-centered care and efficient department operations aligned with organizational goals. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of sonography programs, protocols, and policies. Perform sonographic examinations as ordered, prepare preliminary reports, and communicate findings to referring physicians. Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance healthcare initiatives and participate in professional groups and committees. Manage staff relationships, foster teamwork, and provide coaching and feedback to support professional growth. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Drive innovation and adapt to changes in workload or procedures to optimize productivity. Engage in strategic planning and contribute to departmental goals and future challenges. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a minimum grade of "C." At least 12 months of experience preferred, including routine, vascular, OB/GYN, and breast ultrasonography. Licenses and Certifications Certification from an ARDMS-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Active or obtainable ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire (SPI and AB specialties preferred). BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. Skills and Abilities Advanced knowledge of sonography practices and clinical skills with the ability to perform, evaluate, and teach sonographic tasks. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and community members. Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and apply problem-solving and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Includes frequent lifting and carrying of varying weights, standing, walking, bending, and exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices.
