Animal Services Officer
Full-Time | Marin County, CA
$30.55 – $37.78/hour (+ $1.00/hr bilingual Spanish differential)
Four 10-hour shifts per week

As an Animal Services Officer (ASO), you’ll be at the center of this work—responding to calls across the community, protecting animals, and helping people navigate difficult situations with care and respect.
This is meaningful, fast-paced work that calls for both compassion and resilience.
What You’ll Do
Respond to animal-related calls, including rescues, emergencies, and investigations
Safely handle and transport domestic and wild animals
Enforce animal welfare laws and conduct investigations
Support and educate community members with empathy and professionalism
Assist in emergency and disaster response situations

Leads with empathy, even in difficult or emotional situations
Communicates clearly and respectfully with people from all backgrounds
Stays calm, focused, and decisive under pressure
Is prepared for work that is both physically demanding and emotionally complex
Believes in strengthening the bond between animals and people
Is flexible and available for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
What You Bring
Valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record
High school diploma or GED
Willingness to complete required training (provided), including:
Animal Law Enforcement Academy
Euthanasia Technician Certification
PC 832 (laws of arrest, search, and seizure)
Ability to pass a background check
