OverviewNorth Plains, OR | Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club is currently searching for a First Assistant Golf Professional who will assist the Head Golf Professional regarding Club Golf Operations for the Ghost Creek Golf Course. This individual will continue the storied golf history of Pumpkin Ridge while working to improve the Ghost Creek golf experience through remarkable service, tee sheet management, tournament execution and creative programming. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to make their mark on this historic 36-hole facility.
As First Assistant Golf Professional, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the Ghost Creek Club Golf Operations and ensuring the highest standards of service.
Compensation range is $60,000 to $65,000 and is negotiable based on the level of expertise. Compensation does not include lesson income opportunities that will be available based on the candidate's abilities to teach, coach and engage customers.

Amongst many other events, the Club has played host to the 1996 US Amateur Championship, the 1997 & 2003 US Women's Open, the 2006 US Women's Amateur Open, more than half a decade of Korn Ferry Tour events and the 2022 LIV Portland Invitational. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to make their mark on this historic 36-hole facility located in North Plains, Oregon.
Responsibilities:
- Has an unwavering commitment to perform all duties in a REMARKABLE way
- Assist with daily golf operations including tee time reservations, player check in, and course setup
- Ensure the smooth flow of play and enforce course policies and procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service to all members and guests
- Assist with teaching golf lessons, clinics, and junior programs under the guidance of the Director of Instruction or the Head Golf Professional
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of golf tournaments, leagues, and special events
- Coordinate tournament registration, scoring, and prize distribution
- Ensure that all events run smoothly and efficiently, providing an exceptional experience for participants
- Assist with pro shop inventory management, including receiving merchandise, pricing, display and cleanliness and organization
- Process retail transactions and provide product recommendations to guests.
- Manage daily golf operations, including, but not limited to staffing, service levels, tee time reservations, player check-in, member tournament operations.
- Ensure the course is properly maintained and prepared for play
- Implement policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all golfers and guests
- Address member and guests inquires, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner
- Promote and sell golf equipment, apparel, and accessories to maximize revenue
- Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly and respectful manner.
Qualifications
- PGA membership or enrollment in PGA PGM program "in good standing" preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and instruction techniquesÂ
- Proficient in golf management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities are subject to change and new responsibilities may be added. The First Assistant Golf Professional is expected to be adaptable and flexible and make the necessary adjustments to achieve those new responsibilities and changes that may be made from time to time.
Experience Required
