Company Profile

Montana State University Alumni Foundation

Company Overview

The Montana State University Alumni Foundation exists to serve one mission, to "cultivate lifelong relationships and secure private support to advance Montana State University."
With roots that go back to 1903, the Alumni Foundation has been instrumental in contributing to the long-term success of Montana State's land-grant mission to integrate education, create knowledge and art and serve communities. We work to keep graduates and friends of our university connected to one another and to their alma mater, all while raising significant private financial support and providing stewardship for invested resources from many generous donors.
At the end of 2018, in MSU's 125th anniversary year, we celebrated the conclusion of our first comprehensive fundraising campaign on behalf of the university. What it Takes—The Campaign for Montana State University was the most successful fundraising effort in the history of the state of Montana, having raised $413 million in support for the university. View a full report on the campaign along with stories of its impact.
In addition to raising private support for the university, the MSU Alumni Foundation also manages the endowment, a $178 million pool of more than 1,200 investment funds that provide perpetual support to the university. Growing the endowment is the best way to ensure that Montana State University remains healthy, strong, competitive and able to fulfill its land-grant mission into the future.
And our Alumni Advocate Network helps mold a sustainable future for MSU by keeping their communities and lawmakers informed about issues important to Montana higher education and MSU's land-grant mission.
Whether in a campaign or not, we are constantly engaging with alumni, friends and donors of all levels, stages of life and locations. This continuum of engagement is all about providing ways to engage with and provide support to the university at any point in a person's life.
