Company History
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has been a cornerstone of care in the Mid-South for more than a century, tracing its roots to 1918 when it was founded by The United Methodist Church to meet the region’s growing need for quality healthcare. Over the decades, the organization expanded from a single hospital into a comprehensive, not-for-profit health system that now includes six hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, outpatient facilities, hospice services, and a wide network of physician practices.
The system’s legacy of service is built on a commitment to compassionate, community-focused care and continuous innovation. Its history also includes the integration of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in 1995, strengthening its role as a leader in both adult and pediatric care across the Mid-South.
