The Opportunity

This position works out of our Westfield, Indiana location in the Structural Heart Division.

  • Establishes operational plans and schedules for the manufacturing department and the facilities group.
  • Provides direction and guidance to managers and exempt personnel who resolve issues and refine processes related to the transition of approved new product designs to full-scale production.

  • Utilizes technical/professional knowledge and skills to establish, interpret and execute company policies in a major segment of the company.;
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).;
  • Makes and executes operational decisions with a strategic perspective.;
  • Directs and controls the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups and/or operations.

SUPERVISORY & MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

(Supervision Received) Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior;

(Supervision Provided) Provides direction and guidance to middle managers or exempt specialist personnel; evaluates performance of and assists in career development planning for subordinates; often responsible for a major segment of the company.

(Influence/Leadership) Develops and articulates a strategic vision for areas of responsibility.  Leads assigned departments by developing, communicating, and building consensus for goals and programs that support division, business unit and company objectives.

(Planning/Organization) Creates mid- to long-range plans to carry out objectives established by top management; develops and calculates a budget for one or more departments to meet organizational goals; forecasts future departmental or group needs including human and material resources and capital expenditures; determines and establishes organizational structure and supervisory relationships subject to top management approval.

(Decision Making/Impact) Typically makes decisions that translate programs established by top management into operational plans and schedules; work is performed without appreciable direction; consequences of erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to the major objectives of the organization and would seriously affect the financial, employment, or public relations position of the company.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.  Advanced degree preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

(Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills)) Monitors progress of departments or units toward divisional and company goals; monitors all costs associated with assigned organizational unit; monitors company-wide indicators such as market share and profitability; monitors industry trends and external environment in areas relevant to the assigned organizational unit. Will perform this job in a quality system environment.  Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.;

(Cognitive Skills) Develops and/or identifies new work processes that will have broad applicability throughout the company; contributes ideas for improving work processes and achieving organizational goals; investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel in multiple units or departments; develops and communicates a vision for a major segment of the organization.

The base pay for this position is

$155,300.00 – $310,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
