Who we are:
AUTM is the nonprofit leader in efforts to educate, promote and inspire professionals to support the development of academic research that changes the world and drives innovation forward through research commercialization (tech transfer).


In this role, as Project Coordinator, you will be employed by AUTM both for Association projects and in support of the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC), managing the National and Regional awards programs and assisting with marketing and communication needs. This a remote position and is open to candidates in all geographic areas, but applicants based in the Washington, DC or Chicago areas are preferred to facilitate more frequent meetings with other
staff.

What you will do:
• Coordinate strategies and efforts across the national and regional FLC programs to promote the FLC member labs
• Coordinate with staff to develop and deliver AUTM and FLC annual awards programs
• Coordinate the annual FLC call for awards, submission portal and accompanying sites judging, selection, and delivery of FLC awards (one national and six regional programs).
• Act as the staff lead with the FLC Awards volunteers to help evolve the FLC award programs to reflect membership demand.
• Lead and manage award subcommittee meetings, including the development of agendas, provide timeline development for administrative specific duties for FLC and AUTM award programs
• Handle marketing email development for all FLC Regional and National Award submissions as well as AUTM Annual Meeting Awards submissions
• Work with judges on FLC Award criteria/instructions
• Prepares and proofs awards related PowerPoint slides for AUTM and FLC
• Handle trophy ordering and proofing for AUTM and FLC
• Handle certificate creation and ordering with FLC fulfillment house
• Scores compilation and preparation for FLC and AUTM judges (Bremer Scholarships)
• Organizes call for judges to discuss scores and make final selections
• Develops and emails letters to nonwinners/winners
• Works with winners for scientific posters and/or videos for Award ceremonies (FLC National/Regional)
• Works with meetings staff to order poster boards at FLC National Meeting
• Develop FLC banquet seating chart for National Awards ceremony
• Organizes volunteers for FLC National Awards ceremony
• Works with FLC Award winners to coordinate ordering and shipping of trophies and certificates for both national and regional award programs
• Provides onsite or virtual support (based on program needs) at FLC region meetings and AUTM annual events
You have:
• Project management skills
• Familiarity with awards and recognition programs
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service



Requirements

Your qualifications:
• Experience in awards/competitions and recognition preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work on deadline when necessary, occasional weekends
• Strong proficiency and working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (mail
merges)
• Familiarity with Slayte, Impexium and Real Magnet is a plus but not necessary.
• Experience with awards submission software programs or email systems
• Video editing experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to work as a team as well as independent
Travel: 15%
Annual Salary: $45,000 to $55,000
