The Hampstead Central School is seeking a dedicated, student centered Occupational Therapist to support learners in Preschool through grade 4. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with educators, related service providers, and families to help students develop the skills necessary for success in the school environment. This role focuses on promoting independence, access to curriculum, and participation in daily school activities. Under the general supervision of the Building Principal, to lead the process in the development, implementation, and coordination of the school district's occupational therapy program for students with disabilities or physical/mental impairments by developing individualized programming based on occupational performance deficits, activities of daily living, including personal care, interaction skills, community integration, work, and communication.
Essential Functions
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students with identified needs
Conduct evaluations and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Conduct screenings and support students through the MTSS Process
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student goals
Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and support staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into classroom routines
Support students in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and functional independence
Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies for support

Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
Experience working in a school setting preferred
Familiarity with or training in Handwriting Without Tears and Zones of Regulation preferred
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Experience working with young children (preschool elementary)
Knowledge of a variety of therapeutic approaches to support diverse learners
Ability to be flexible, proactive, and solution-oriented in a dynamic school environment
