Position Overview:
As a Medical Disability Examiner, you will conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) Examinations for Veterans applying for disability benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Your role includes reviewing claims, performing focused assessments, reviewing medical records, and providing objective medical opinions. Charting from home may be required. You will be supported by a collaborative MD available for consultation as needed.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive, focused medical disability exams for Veterans, including history review, physical exams, and assessment of functional impact.
Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic results.
Provide unbiased, evidence-based medical opinions regarding disability and functional limitations.
Accurately document findings in clear, concise reports per VA guidelines.
Utilize case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and the Quality Assurance team.
Ensure compliance with VA and HIPAA standards.
Manage your own schedule and confirm availability for C&P exams.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy protocols.
Work Environment & Benefits:
Flexible scheduling: choose weekdays and/or weekends.
No on-call duties or malpractice concerns.
No provider-patient relationship established.

Offices available in all the major Cities of New York State (potential expanding to other States soon); travel expenses covered for work outside your local area; you may choose to work in your local office and/or other offices (travel expenses covered based on distance from home to work location).

Compensation:
Independent Medical Provider (1099 tax form)
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited professional school; valid, unrestricted license (NP, MD, DO, PA, etc.) in any US state or territory.
At least 2 years of clinical experience recommended. New graduated welcome.
BLS certification required.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Adobe PDF, and EMR systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Physical & Travel Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing/sitting; ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
