- Tour Guide / Boat Deckhand
Description
Seacoast Tours in Freeport, Maine is hiring a paid Tour Guide / Boat Deckhand for the 2026 season. This is a guest-forward role built around storytelling, hospitality, and hands-on boat operations. You’ll welcome guests, lead engagement on shore and on the water, drive a 12-passenger van, assist with vessel operations, and help create a memorable coastal Maine experience. This is an outdoor position requiring comfort in varied weather, the ability to lift 25 lbs, CPR and First Aid certification, and participation in a drug-free workplace program are required. Season runs mid-May through mid-October, 2–3 fixed days per week (6–8 hours/day), $17–$20 per hour. Must live within 30 minutes of Freeport.
This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in experiential tourism, guiding, hospitality, or marine environments. Strong communication skills and genuine enjoyment of engaging with people are essential — we can teach deckhand skills, but guest connection and presence matter most. If you enjoy being outdoors, telling stories, and helping visitors experience coastal Maine in a meaningful way, we’d like to hear from you.
