To support our continued growth, LAN is looking to add a Municipal Team Leader in Austin, TX!
This individual is responsible for managing and coordinating all project efforts to ensure effective execution. Prepares financial work plans and serves as a primary client liaison. You'll lead a talented team through the planning, design, and delivery of critical Municipal projects, making sure everything runs smoothly from kickoff to completion.
Our Team Leaders direct the effective execution of multiple projects in a specific market and ensuring quality, strategy, efficient delivery, and profitable project performance.

Job Responsibilities
- Serves as a subject matter authority within a multi-disciplined market sector, applying deep understanding of technical standards and industry best practices.
- Drives client relationship strategy, including contract discussions, pursuit positioning, market expansion efforts, and serving as a strategic partner to key clients.
- Provides leadership and guidance to team members, supporting career development, feedback processes, and compensation discussions.
- Partners in talent acquisition efforts to identify, attract, and retain high-performing professionals.
- Oversees and directs pursuit strategy, including leading proposal development and interview preparation.
- Contributes to the creation and implementation of the team's annual business and growth strategy.
- Accountable for overall team performance, including financial results, team engagement, and client experience.
- Aligns team resources and priorities to ensure balanced workloads and successful project delivery.
- Evaluates and negotiates contractual agreements with clients and subconsultants to ensure alignment with project and business objectives.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or similar field
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas, or ability to receive transfer license within 3 months of employment
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering
- Prior leadership or management experience
- Ability to lead design teams in Civil3D and/or OpenRoads (ORD)
- Technical experience working on projects within the utilities (water/wastewater pumping & conveyance), transportation, and/or water resources fields
- Preferred local municipality relationships surrounding the Austin metroplex
Preferred Education & Experience
- Master's degree in engineering
- Market certifications
- Participates in technical committees or professional practice organizations
- Understands client decision-making process and can build/develop relationships internally and externally
- Ability to maintain key client relationships with personnel at a decision-making level and serves as the client manager.
- Proficient in team motivation, and cultivating a collaborative and innovative culture
- Understanding contract terms and can negotiate when establishing agreements with clients
