Cub Creek Science Camp is a residential summer camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. We are dedicated to providing an unforgettable and unique summer camp experience, but above all else, we strive to help our campers gain self-confidence, discover who they are, and make lasting friendships!

Position Description
Work cooperatively with fellow Photographers to capture photos and video of camp activities each day. Photos need to be edited, and uploaded daily to camps' photo gallery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take photos and video at assigned locations and activities throughout the week which may include camper check-in, classes, and evening activity
- Edit photos, upload to storage folder, and label with camper name or image subject
- Assist campers in handling animals to ensure well composed photographs and safe interaction with animals
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and during training
- Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities
Benefits
Starting pay $4000 for 12 week summer. Additional $100 credit in camp store for snacks and supplies. Housing, meals, and laundry included. Weekend work is required, this position requires availability to work on-site 7 days a week for the contract period. 2-hour break provided each day, and 1 scheduled day off each week.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Photographers will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions. An average of 5 miles of walking is expected each day and all staff must be comfortable walking on uneven ground for extended periods. Willing and able to sleep in shared housing in a cabin with other counselors and campers, single or private accommodation is not available. Comfortable sleeping outdoors at least one night a week and enthusiastically supporting campers to sleep out. Comfortable being around and handling a range of animals including snakes, spiders, lizards and other native- and non-native species. Able to sustain energy and enthusiasm throughout the full work day. Weekend work is required, this position requires availability to work on-site 7 days a week for the contract period. Functions, activities, and working conditions may change or new ones may be added during the course of employment to support the operation of camp.
Requirements
Required Experience and Skills:
- Completed High School. Some experience with a camera is preferred
- A desire to positively impact the life of a child and willingness to put the needs of campers first
- Have a passion for science, animals and childhood development
- Able to effectively communicate ideas, and instructions in a constructive manner
- Self-motivated and able to work on tasks and assigned goals with minimal supervision
- Be willing to learn new concepts and skills
- Able to work in a team and both give and take direction from others
- Willingness to adhere to camp’s code of conduct, rules and policies
