Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
This position assists with the collecting, working with, organizing, and maintaining accurate data and web-based information for the Franklin College Office of Student Academic Services (OSAS). This office includes lower- and upper-division advising and graduation offices for the college, as well as administrative offices that deal directly with student academic services in abroad context. The confidential handling of student information, as well as an awareness of FERPA regulations, are necessary.
This position assists with website issues, changes, and development. It is also assists with data-based report creation for unit-wide assessment, as well as organizational and procedural purposes. A thorough knowledge of the following university data and reporting software is necessary: ARGOS, SAGE, Banner, and DegreeWorks, as well as Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, and website management software.
This position helps facilitate Orientation advising for all students advised by Franklin College. It assists with setting schedules for Orientation appointments, reserving rooms, gathering and maintaining incoming student information, facilitating advising assignments for major changes, and performs related duties.forms related duties.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Familiarity with UGA policies, regulations, procedures, and resources pertaining to prospective, incoming, and continuing transfer students.
- Knowledge of DegreeWorks, Athena, SAGE, and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail. Ability to maintain and edit web pages.Ability to collect and organize assessment data and statistics.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software and data platforms.
Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling; spending long periods of time at a computer.

Student Orientation assistance
- Help collect data for orientation sessions.
- Schedule orientation appointments for students based on allocation.
- Assist with daily set-up and clean up of Academic Student Welcome areas.
- Help field questions about major changes and appointment scheduling during orientation.
- Implement communications per established communication strategy and timeline.
- Enforce scheduling and appointment policies.
- Pull seat report and track high demand classes.
Data Tracking and Reporting
- Track and collect data for OSAS assessment plan, Connect and Complete, orientation, advising assignments, etc.
- Help track progress and measure OSAS student success initiatives.
- Help create reports and data visualization for reporting.
Communications Implementation
- Implement student communication strategy.
- Build communication templates into SAGE.
- Help draft, assemble, and send internal communications that assist with student success.
- Manage and update the OSAS Website, including creating new web pages as needed.
- Check website for accuracy.
- Outreach to departments to solicit contact and information changes.
Advising Assignments Assistance
- Work with Student Welcome and Success Strategist to address advising assignment loads, reassignments, etc.
Professional Development and Growth
- Engage in professional development, unit and UGA committees, OSAS presentations, and new initiatives as needed, etc.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
