Position Summary
As a Staff Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our satellite products. You will work closely with the suppliers, customers, as well as the engineering and manufacturing teams to develop and implement quality control methodologies, perform corrective action investigations, initiate preventive actions, and to help oversee the entire quality assurance process.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and measures for the manufacturing of satellite systems.
Conduct and lead AS9100 Quality Audits (internal and supplier)
Conduct thorough inspections of materials and components to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues early in the development process.
Leads large, crossfunctional initiatives to drive systemic quality improvements across programs or the entire site.
Resolves the most complex quality issues, including systemic defects, compliance risks, and high‑visibility customer escapes.
Lead complex, site‑wide quality investigations, including MRB, CAPA, and root‑cause analyses, and serve as the technical authority for customer‑driven investigations. Analyze test/inspection results, identify trends in performance data, and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
Review supplier and vendor quality standards and performance, conducting audits as necessary.
Ensure that all quality assurance documentation is accurate and maintained according to industry and regulatory standards.
Stay updated on industry trends, quality assurance methodologies, and regulatory requirements affecting satellite manufacturing.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in the quality assurance process, influencing long‑term quality strategy, risk mitigation planning, and adoption of new tools, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
Strong understanding of quality assurance standards, methodologies, and regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry.
Superior communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
Strong analytical ability to interpret complex specifications and technical documentation.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in the use of QA tools, FAIRs, software for data analysis, and statistical quality control techniques.

Detail oriented, with attention on and adherence to departmental policies
Flexible, self-motivated and able to work independently in an action-oriented environment
Ability to complete verbal assignments or written in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy
Ability to work autonomously with a sense of assessing risk and when to escalate issues
Problem solving (i.e. 6 Sigma, LEAN, TOC, 8D or FRACAS corrective action), KPIs, DPAS, AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001:2015, and/or IPC knowledge desirable
Telecom and/or PCB experience desirable
Experience
A minimum of 7-9 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in the aerospace, satellite, or high-technology manufacturing sector.
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
