- Speech Language Pathologist
Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist consults with the Interdisciplinary Teams (IDT) to provide the best plan of coordinated speech/swallowing services for the participants.
Essential Responsibilities:
Conducts initial Speech therapy evaluations and screens, develops individual treatment plans, implements appropriate interventions, and treats as appropriate.
Coordinates speech/swallowing services as they relate to direct patient care.
Records required documentation timely and per Organizational policy.
Prepares for and participates in pre-enrollment, care planning, debriefing, staff meetings and discharge planning. Attends family meetings as necessary.
Performs cognitive, linguistic, and swallowing evaluations as referred by the medical team.
Conducts education and training for the participant, family, and caregivers regarding speech therapy treatment.
Assists with the development of policies, procedures and applicable workflows.
Frequently contributes to the development and implementation of new ideas and methods.
Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
Ability to pass a fit test. Position requires mask where seal is critical. Incumbent is required to not have facial hair that interferes with a tight seal of the respirator.
Frequent local travel.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Master’s degree in SLP from an accredited college or university
Current Massachusetts SLP license
Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare or clinical experience working with the elderly
Ability to demonstrate professionalism, initiative, good judgment and effective decision-making; exhibit strong process improvement orientation
Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Advanced computer skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
COVID Vaccinated preferred.
