Description
Reporting into the Senior Director People and Culture, the Senior Specialist supports the People & Culture team with a focus on fixed-term staffing, compliance, benefits support, and Workday transactions and reporting. The Senior Specialist will have knowledge of Human Resources and will be responsible for day-to-day cross functional support including but not limited to benefits, human resources compliance and HRIS data entry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Process all hires, scheduled weekly hour changes and terminations for Fixed term workers using Workday and E-verify;
- Complete employee transactions, ensuring that Workday is up to date and remains accurate. This includes enrollments, beneficiaries, COBRA, fixed term hires/terminations, tuition reimbursements, and all other job changes; ensuring internal audits are maintained and updated;
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of Employee Handbook and other HR policies;
- Use Workday to compile and assist in preparing and filing EEO-1, ACA Reporting, and other compliance reports;
- Maintain and upkeep People & Culture dashboard and Workday reports;
- Ensure that all labor law and compliance posters are available and displayed in appropriate areas;
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and service delivery;
- Assist in the administration of Open Enrollment and Renewals, as needed;
- Assist with processing bills and invoices for benefit premium payments and 403-b transmissions;
- Conduct new employee orientation and support other areas of HR, as needed;
- Process all employment verifications and review unemployment claims, taking action, as required;
- Work with managers to ensure timely on-boarding and off-boarding of all Fixed-Term labor and regular staff;
- Lead yearly staff and new hire anti-sexual harassment training completion and tracking;
- Continuously educate and train managers on Fixed-Term Labor Guidelines/Best Practices;
- Work with managers to ensure any process issues are addressed in a timely fashion;
- Other relevant duties, as assigned.
Qualified candidates will possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail; demonstrate the highest level of confidentiality and discretion; and have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and management.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Workday or other HRIS system;
- Advanced Excel skills including macros and pivot tables.

Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $78,000.00. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
