We are partnering with a leading professional services organization on their search for a Senior Manager of Benefits & Wellness, a role responsible for overseeing the strategy, administration, and ongoing enhancement of all employee benefits and wellness programs.
This is a high visibility role that partners closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and leadership to deliver an exceptional employee experience across multiple locations.
About the Role
The Senior Manager of Benefits & Wellness will manage the full lifecycle of firmwide benefit programs—including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSAs, commuter benefits, EAP, and more—while leading wellness initiatives and overseeing a small team. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daytoday administration of all employee benefit programs.
- Review and approve benefitsrelated payroll inputs, deductions, and leaverelated impacts.
- Partner with Payroll, HR Operations, and Finance to reconcile benefits and resolve discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex benefits, payroll, and eligibility issues.
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of benefits and wellness programs.
- Manage Open Enrollment, including HRIS setup, materials, presentations, and audits.
- Oversee the firm’s Wellness Program and Wellness Committee; develop wellness events and initiatives.
- Manage executive medical programs, claims processing, billing, and yearend reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations (ERISA, COBRA, ADA, Section 125, HIPAA, etc.).
- Coordinate government filings (1094C/1095C, Form 5500, Form 720, CMS disclosures).
- Review vendor contracts, MSAs, BAAs, and service agreements.
- Participate in annual benefits budgeting and ongoing expense tracking.
- Lead process documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee complex leaves of absence and serve as subject matter expert on leave regulations.
- Manage COBRA administration and carrier relationships.
- Ensure accurate monthly carrier invoice reconciliation and benefits reporting.
- Maintain HRIS benefits administration (Dayforce preferred).
- Oversee workers’ compensation reporting, OSHA compliance, and incident tracking.
- Manage internal benefits and wellness content to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
Hybrid Schedule: In-office Tuesday-Thursday; WFH Monday and Friday
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years of benefits administration experience.
- SHRM certification or CEBS designation a plus.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of plan design, benefits compliance, and leave administration.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and timemanagement skills.
- Proven peoplemanagement and coaching experience.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; Dayforce experience preferred.
