- REU: Elements of Sustainability
Description
The NSF defines Sustainable Chemistry as “efforts that seek to improve the efficiency with which resources are used to meet human needs for chemical products and materials while reducing use of hazardous substances or producing waste.” The sustainable chemistry focus of this REU site combines a broad cross section of disciplines attractive to students and critical for future generations. Through an active research experience, students will learn technical skills, gain research independence, and will learn of the careers and research available if they choose to pursue further STEM or graduate education. Students will participate in the Idaho Conference on Undergraduate Research (ICUR), a statewide undergraduate research conference as part of the program.
