Description
The intellectual theme of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab REU program is understanding how marine and estuarine ecosystems and living resources respond to disturbance. Under this theme, we provide semi-independent research experiences across disciplines in coastal ecology (plant, invertebrate, fish, mammal), toxicology, microbiology and biological, chemical, physical and geological oceanography. The integration of field and lab-based studies across disciplines, proximity to a range of ecosystems, and dedicated faculty mentors, provide a unique and well-rounded experience for participants.
