Position Description:
The Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center is seeking a Research Assistant III to join our research team focused on Neuroscience and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) research. The successful candidate will support ongoing basic and translational research projects investigating neural repair, neuromodulation, and functional recovery using advanced experimental and analytical approaches. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting- edge neuroscience research within a collaborative academic environment. This is a grant funded position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support animal-based experiments, including rodent handling, behavioral testing, and post-operative monitoring.
- Perform laboratory techniques including tissue processing, histology, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and molecular assays.
- Assist with injections and experimental surgeries (training provided as needed).
- Maintain accurate experimental records and assist with data organization and analysis.
- Maintain equipment, lab organization, and supply inventory.
- Follow institutional safety, IACUC, and research compliance protocols.
- Participate in lab meetings and contribute to collaborative research activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Target Compensation Maximum:
$28.55
Target Compensation Minimum:
$19.03
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
