Description
The American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) Foundation is accepting applications for one public member to serve on its Board of Directors, with a term beginning June 2026. The Foundation encourages individuals with diverse skills and experiences who are interested in helping shape its future direction to apply.
Newly elected Directors will be expected to attend the virtual ABEM Foundation Board of Directors Annual Meeting, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Requirements
Background and Experiences
Applicants should bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Nonprofit leadership and management, particularly within the health care environment.
- Partnership development and stakeholder engagement.
- Committee service or organizational project leadership.
- Community outreach and advocacy aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
Expectations
Foundation Directors are expected to:
- Support and advance the Foundation’s mission.
- Contribute perspectives and participate in strategic discussions.
- Think strategically and exercise sound judgement.
- Work collaboratively to achieve shared goals and decisions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive excellence.
Individuals interested in serving on the ABEM Foundation Board of Directors should complete the ABEM Foundation Director Application Form by April 17, 2026.
