Job DescriptionOur client, a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering comprehensive mental health services, is hiring a Psychiatrist to join their dynamic team on Long Island. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to impact patient care significantly through a blend of outpatient and hospital-based psychiatric services, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and treatment planning both in-person and via telehealth platforms.
- Provide medication management and brief supportive psychotherapy tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patient progress continuously and modify treatment plans accordingly to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, hospital staff, and administrative leaders to coordinate care across multiple settings.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Participate actively in team meetings, clinical case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
- Valid and active New York State medical license (or eligibility).
- DEA certification with prescribing authority for controlled substances.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and deliver compassionate patient care.
- Experience in consult/liaison psychiatry and outpatient settings.
- Familiarity with integrated or collaborative care models.
- Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other languages relevant to the local community.
- Ability to accommodate a full-time schedule at North Fork of Long Island locations.
