Carolina Trace Country Club, located in Sanford, NC, is seeking professional staff for the upcoming season.
Home to 36 holes designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr., Carolina Trace features two championship courses and proudly serves more than 350 active members. We are committed to delivering an exceptional golf experience and are looking for motivated, service-oriented individuals to join our team.
Position: Pro Shop Assistant
The Pro Shop Assistant will support the Director of Golf and Golf Professionals in the daily operations of the golf shop and outside services. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about the game of golf.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting with daily golf shop operations
- Opening and closing procedures
- Booking tee times and managing reservations
- Retail sales and merchandising
- Supporting outside golf operations
- Assisting with maintenance and management of the golf cart fleet
- Overseeing practice facility setup and upkeep
We are seeking individuals who demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and a team-first attitude. Previous golf operations or customer service experience is preferred.

Experience Required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in golf operations, sales, and customer service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage groups and individuals
- Demonstrated personal initiative, leadership abilities, and sound decision-making skills
- Ability to complete assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and POS operating systems
- Thorough knowledge of the Rules of Golf, proper golf etiquette, and a strong overall understanding of the game
Essential Responsibilities
Golf Operations / Pro Shop Staff Responsibilities
Point of Sale & Reservations
- Administer point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain the daily tee sheet and reservation system, including booking tee times, checking in golfers, and processing payments.
- Ensure accurate collection and recording of all payments (cash, credit cards, and member charges).
- Reconcile cash register sales with daily opening and closing reports at the beginning and end of each shift.
Range & Practice Facility Operations
- Set up and close the driving range daily.
- Monitor range cleanliness and ensure an adequate supply of clean range balls.
- Maintain cart staging areas, driving range, putting green, and short game areas to club standards.
Tournaments & Events
- Maintain a working knowledge of all club events, tournaments, clinics, and current golf rates (membership, packages, and outside play).
- Assist Golf Professional staff with tournament operations, including cart setup, scoring, breakdown, and recovery.
- Demonstrate an understanding of golf tournament software, handicapping systems, and scoring procedures.
Customer Service & Member Experience
- Ensure all member and guest needs are met in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintain accurate tee sheet management and assist with pace of play.
- Provide outstanding communication and problem-solving skills in all interactions.
- Leave every member and guest with an exceptional club experience.
Professional Standards
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
- Perform all additional duties as assigned by the Golf Professional staff.
