Job Description
Metro PT is looking for a motivated, compassionate, and forward-thinking licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team as a floater, providing coverage throughout Nassau County, Long Island. In this full-time role, your clinic location will vary based on clinic needs and schedule demands-you'll provide care across all of our clinics in the region.
You'll work closely with, and under the direction of, a Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising Physical Therapist of matters concerning the patient's condition.
- Follows the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and practices within state practice guidelines.
- Exercises sound judgement, care, professionalism and skill in the performance of duties.
- Instructs and counsels patients effectively in exercises and recovery.
- Identifies patient's needs and exhibits compassion and caring.
- Conveys potential modifications ensuring patient's progress, safety and comfort to the Physical Therapist.
- Completes documentation in the EMR to support the delivery of physical therapy services
- Under direct supervision of and with co-signature by a PT, records daily notes.
- Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
- Helps treat patients by applying ice or heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques as requested by PT.
- Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Reports any issues needing resolution to Physical Therapists.

Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of New York or eligible.
- Evaluates a patient's need for physical therapy and develops an appropriate treatment plan.
- Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan, agency policy and professional standards of care.
- Instructs family members, PTA's, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques.
- Mandatory Certifications: First Aid, AED, & CPR Certifications.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000- $80,000. Salary is based on various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. Additionally, this position is eligible for incentive compensation. The Company's incentive compensation plan is subject to change. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits are also available, subject to the terms of the Company's plan.
