Grosse Ile Township is soliciting applications for the position of Payroll Clerk with the Township’s Finance Department. Job responsibilities include performing administrative, professional, technical, and clerical work in support of the Finance Department. Responsible for and payroll administration, employee records updates, benefitrelated documentation. Assists with audit preparation and financial reporting. Maintains confidential payroll and personnel data and ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Work is performed under the general direction of the Finance Director with statutory oversight from the Township Clerk.
Requirements
Requirements:
Minimum age requirement of 18.
High school diploma or GED required. Preference given to candidates with secondary education/degree(s) in finance.
Experience with financial or payroll software (e.g., BS+A, Microsoft Excel, Word). Preference given to those that have this experience in a municipal setting.
Knowledge of public finance, budgeting, and municipal accounting practices.
