Description
End-of-Life Veterinarian | Positions available for 1–5 days/week | Up to $188K salary + benefits | Service areas available: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Fernando Valley
Honor Pet was built to create a model of care that treats end-of-life medicine as its own discipline, with the environment, team, and structure to do it well.
Co-founded in 2023 by Dr. Shea Cox, a recognized leader in veterinary end-of-life care, Honor Pet is the first purpose-built veterinary practice to offer everything needed for end-of-life care under one roof. Our tranquil 10,000 square foot Comfort Center in Downtown LA's Arts District offers pre-planning, in-home and in-center euthanasia, water cremation, memorial services, and professional grief support.
We’re hiring an end-of-life veterinarian to meet the growing need for in-home and in-center euthanasia in our surrounding areas. We offer a flexible schedule (1–5 days/week) with a salary that is day-based, not tied to appointment volume. This role is for a doctor who wants to practice clinical excellence with a flexible schedule that leaves room for real life, all while being supported by an experienced care coordination and medical operations team. You will provide peaceful, dignified euthanasia care in one or both settings:
Los Angeles service area
In-home and in-center euthanasia with a maximum of 5 appointments scheduled per day (most days average 3–4 appointments).
Orange County and San Fernando Valley service areas
In-home euthanasia only with a maximum of 5 appointments scheduled per day (most days average 3–4 appointments).
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Continuing education allowance
- License and professional dues covered
- Company vehicle provided and/or mileage reimbursement
- PTO equivalent to 4.5 weeks per year, prorated based on number of days worked
- Opportunities to pursue advanced training, credentialing, and leadership development
Requirements
Key responsibilities
- Provide in-home euthanasia services (also providing in-center euthanasia services if practicing in the Los Angeles service area)
- Compassionately and skillfully guide families through emotionally intense moments
- Timely completion of medical records and post-euthanasia tasks (kept simple)
What we’re looking for
- Licensed veterinarian in California with a current DEA

- You are steady and confident in emotionally complex situations
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the service area
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Well-maintained vehicle (SUV, hatchback, or crossover required)
