Job Summary Manages a comprehensive volunteer service program, including recruitment, training, and placement of volunteers. Develops and implements goals and priorities for the volunteer program that reflect the mission of Baylor Scott and White Health. Essential Functions of the Role * Supervises departmental personnel and volunteers. This includes recruitment, reviewing and prioritizing department requests for volunteers, scheduling, training, counseling, evaluation, and problem resolution. * Plans, develops, manages, and implements volunteer services and programs. These assist departments in delivering quality healthcare to the community. Fosters a positive working relationship between staff and volunteers. * Regulates departmental resources requirements and ensures the efficient use of resources; prepares departmental budget; administers and coordinates fundraising activities. * Develops, administers, and reviews policies and procedures for volunteer programs. Improves volunteer services and operations. Reflects the overall values of the organization. * Develops and implements standard orientation, training, and recognition programs for volunteers. Plans and implements volunteer recruitment and retention programs. * Establishes and maintains relationships with community managers, community-based organizations, and corporate sponsors to support the volunteer services program. * Evaluates singular program activities to minimize potential liabilities from volunteer activities. Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for volunteer services. Investigates and resolves complaints or issues related to staff or services. * Develops and maintains a database of volunteer programs. Prepares reports and analyses showing progress, adverse trends, and recommendations. Key Success Factors * Knowledge of the philosophy and practices of volunteerism. * Knowledge of current trends, resources, and information related to volunteerism. * Verbal and written communication skills. * Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies. * Organizational and presentational skills. * Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. * Ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships. * Ability to plan, develop, and implement recruitment strategies. * Ability to train, motivate, and supervise employees.
