Job Summary:
Direct Care staff are Responsible for the day to day operations of Timothy Hill’s program within their specific house. They are expected to be a positive role model for youth in care, uphold program standards and create a welcoming, hospitable environment where youth can learn and grow.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Protecting residents' rights;
Handling separation anxiety and alleviating the stress of a resident in crisis;
Modeling appropriate behaviors and methods of addressing stressful situations;
Crisis management;
Behavior intervention and teaching of appropriate alternatives;
Training the resident in good habits of personal care, hygiene, eating, and social skills;
Protecting the resident from harm;
Handling routine problems arising within the living group;
Representing adult authority to the residents in the living group and exercising this authority in a mature, firm, compassionate manner;
Enabling the resident to meet daily assignments;
Participating in all staff conferences regarding the resident's progress in program evaluation of service plan goals and future planning;
Participating in the planning of the facility's program and scheduling such program into the operation of the living group under his/her supervision;
Maintaining prescribed logs of all important events that occur regarding significant information about the performance and development of each resident or child of a resident in the group;
Reporting emergency medical or dental care needs to the administrative staff in a timely manner;
Reporting critical incidents to administrative staff in a timely manner; and
Completing duties and responsibilities as assigned regarding residents and children of residents.

Ability to perform all TCI protective interventions
Ability to navigate campus and respond quickly to crisis situations
Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Able to operate a motor vehicle
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must have a high level of integrity and ability to work with confidential information.
Must be flexible, self-motivated and able to follow through on tasks and projects.
Valid Driver’s License.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalency and at least two years post-high school job experience.
Required Background:
FBI Fingerprinting
Louisiana Abuse Maltreatment Registry check
Out-of-State Abuse/Maltreatment Clearances as applicable
Drug Testing
Any other background checks required by the state of LA
