*BSW College Station Cancer Center: Medical Dosimetrist I (Full-Time, Hybrid) - Baylor Scott & White College Station * Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Dosimetrist I to join our expanding Cancer Center in College Station, TX. This full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) hybrid position offers a unique opportunity to rotate remote workdays while collaborating closely on-site with a highly engaged clinical team. No call required. In this role, you'll work side-by-side with Physicians, a Physicist, and Radiation Therapists in a collaborative, patient-centered environment that prioritizes learning, professional development, and a positive workplace culture. Our center is equipped with advanced technology, including a Varian TrueBeam LINAC, GE CT Simulator, and HDR program, supporting a wide range of treatment techniques. We are looking for a dosimetrist with 2+ years of experience and strong proficiency in Varian systems (LINAC), Eclipse TPS, ARIA, RadCalc, and Auto Contour. Experience with SRS and SBRT planning is highly preferred. Candidates should be a graduate of an accredited Dosimetry program with experience in 2D, 3D, and IMRT treatment planning. Job Summary The Medical Dosimetrist I, part of the radiation oncology team, creates radiation dose distributions and calculations with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist for cancer treatment. Essential Functions of the Role * Studies patients' medical histories. Reviews and verifies the physician's treatment plan. Checks treatment technique, volume, critical organs, dose, precautions, and orders/notes. * Designs treatment plans using computer or manual methods. Establishes a technique that delivers the prescribed radiation dose while protecting healthy organs. Communicates plans to the Radiation Oncologist for approval and to the Radiation Therapist for implementation. * Works with radiation therapists to implement patient treatment plans. This includes applying immobilization devices, beam modification devices, approved field arrangements, and other treatment variables. * Creates and maintains records of treatment plans and outcomes. * Monitors and records radiation treatments. Ensures treatment records are properly completed with patient identification and appropriate data. * Ensures proper functioning of all radiation oncology equipment. * Establishes equipment setting for each procedure. * Plans and produces molds, casts and other immobilization devices for accurate treatment delivery. * Oversees radiation safety protocols and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies/programs. * Contributes to clinical research for developing and implementing new cancer treatment techniques, program goals, and continuous process improvement. * Fulfills, and provides proof of, continuing education, licensure, and/or certifications required to remain qualified for this role. Key Success Factors * Knowledge of the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to derive accurate and timely computerized treatment plans. * Able to generate radiation dose distributions and calculations with consideration for dose-limiting structures. * Able to interpret and execute treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols. * Exceptional mathematical skills including algebra, trigonometry and introductory calculus. * Skill in the use of computers and medical dosimetry equipment; able to perform quality assurance of radiation oncology equipment. * Able to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts to facilitate the treatment planning process. * Knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. * May contribute to clinical research for developing new cancer treatment techniques, program goals, and continuous process improvement. * Able to interact positively with patients as needed. * Basic knowledge of billing and coding. * Able to take call, if required.
