Overview:
The Manager of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising contributes to strategy and leads execution of peer-to-peer fundraising programs, including virtual food drives, DIY campaigns, community fundraisers, third-party events, and the marathon. With the support of the Sr. Director, Donor Engagement and Operations, the Manager establishes a scalable framework for peer-to-peer efforts and aligns internal resources and tools to support growth. Manages outreach, engagement, and support for participants to ensure a positive experience and strong fundraising results. Collaborates with Marketing on communication and acquisitions strategies and fundraising platform management. Manages the Associate Board to support the growth and participation in the Peer-to-Peer Program.
Responsibilities
Program Management
Support the development and refinement of P2P fundraising strategy, assessing current program and working with Sr. Director to identify new areas of opportunity
In partnership with Marketing, create and maintain online and electronic program resources guides and collaborate on mass acquisition strategies
Create and manage program calendar, coordinating across Development and Marketing on key periods of collaboration
Manage inclusion of P2P donors and fundraisers in Development Stewardship Matrix
Support the development and management of annual revenue goals, including forecasting fundraising targets and path to goals
Utilize data and metrics to track the progress and success of campaigns and identify areas for improvement and growth
Leverage industry trends and best practices to drive events and P2P revenue
Portfolio Management
Manage 250-350 individual and corporate accounts that span peer-to-peer fundraising programs, prioritizing relationships with growth potential to reach and exceed revenue goals
Cultivate and steward strategic engagement of institutional and individual P2P participants to reach their fundraising goals through individual and group communication strategies
Play an important role in building the prospect pipeline across Development, by identifying corporate and individual donors with additional capacity for evaluation and potential assignment to relationship managers on Lead Annual Giving, Strategic Giving and/or Corporate & Foundation teams
Organize and participate in tours and site visits to deepen engagement with the Food Depository
Virtual Food Drives
Represent program by responding to individual and corporate inquiries and providing guidance and support for creation of VFD drives
Promote VFDs internally, representing the program and potential strategies for individual, corporate, and organizational prospects and donors
Continually assess and maximize the use of fundraising platforms to support and grow program
Work with Marketing to identify cross-promotional opportunities online and through social media platforms
Fundraising Events
Create strategy for Food Depository participation in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, including runner recruitment and fundraising support, stewardship, engagement and marathon weekend events (expo, race day)
Support third party events through creation and management of toolkits, relationship building, and communication with Marketing on promotion of certain events
Partner with Sr. Manager of Events to support the Lunch Box Challenge as part of the Commercial Real Estate Awards event
Represent the Food Depository at third party events (as needed) to advance the organization’s philanthropic objectives
Associate Board Management
Manage Associate Board, including annual engagement calendar, quarterly meetings, and member recruitment
Collaborate across the Food Depository to build engagement opportunities beyond Development, such as in Volunteer Engagement and/or Policy & Advocacy
Manage inclusion of board members in Development Stewardship Matrix
Requirements
Qualifications
4+ years of combined experience in fundraising, events, and donor engagement
Experience coordinating, planning and/or managing cultivation and stewardship initiatives required
Experience managing fundraising revenue and expense budgets
Strong project management and time management skills; demonstrated success in building timelines, hitting milestones, meeting deadlines, and managing competing priorities
Strong presentation, communications, and interpersonal skills a must
A nimble, collaborative team player with the ability to navigate dynamic work environments and thrive in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment
Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft products, StratusLive, and Events CRMs
Familiarity with fundraising platforms such as GoFundMePro, Fundraise up or Just Giving.
