What You’ll Do

• Perform high-quality mammography exams to produce accurate breast images for radiologist interpretation
• Review patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate imaging procedures are performed
• Communicate with patients to explain procedures and create a comfortable, supportive experience
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Radiology Information System
• Perform routine quality control checks and monitor equipment performance in accordance with American College of Radiology standards
• Assist physicians with specialized procedures when needed
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and care teams to deliver excellent patient care
• Support the training and guidance of radiology students rotating through mammography
• Contribute ideas that improve workflow, patient satisfaction, and department performance
• Maintain current professional knowledge through continuing education and certification requirements

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Registered Radiologic Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography
• Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Medical Board or Texas Department of State Health Services
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider CPR certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Mammography Technologist program
• Two years of mammography experience, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, and assisting with biopsies and needle localizations
• ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography (M)

Radiologic Technologists interested in specializing in mammography are encouraged to apply. Candidates must obtain ARRT Mammography (M) certification within 12 months of hire.
